What's new in 2019? Stupet!
Now you can free fall at 125km per hour in Kongeparken. Kongeparken has invested heavily to build Norway’s tallest drop tower. It gives you the opportunity to experience a momentary facelift as you fall from 0 to 125 km an hour in two seconds. 13 June, Kongeparken launches its biggest attraction to date. The acceleration you experience equals over 3 g’s – three times the force of gravity, also known as free falling. The tower soars 242 meter above sea level, is 80 meters tall, and will be the tallest drop tower in the country. In the mornings, the tower will act as a viewing platform for the whole family to enjoy breathtaking views across the entire Jæren, while in the afternoon, big and small heroes have the chance to test their limits. Fun fact about Kongeparken
Little Grey Fergie land (Gråtassland) was in 2015 awarded the world’s best new amusement park area by the THEA-awards that is considered the Oscars for amusement parks. Kongeparken is one of Norway’s five large amusement parks, and one of the leading tourist attractions in the Stavanger region.
Kongeparken was first opened by Gabriel Ålgård in May 1986, initially meant to be a recreational park with outdoor activities, birdcage, a BMX course, roller-skating, game arcades, golf courses and Gulliver (a climbing park formed as the giant Gulliver, where the head alone allegedly weighed 1, 8 ton!).
In 1997 the Lund family purchased the park, and ever since the Lund treatment, the park has been transformed to one of Norway’s greatest family parks, and has become the tourist magnet that it is today. Every year the park launches exciting, new adventures to everyone’s delight.
