|Sirdal skisenter Tjørhomfjellet & Ålsheia (25 Dec 2017 - 30 Apr 2018)|
* Evening skiing from Wednes to Saturday 5 pm - 9 pm.
Welcome to Sirdal Ski Centre at Tjørhomfjellet and Ålsheia. This is the biggest resort in Sirdal, with areas for the whole family to have fun and enjoy themselves. In 2014, Tjørhomfjellet and Ålsheia joined forces, giving you the run of all 9 lifts, 2 children’s areas and no less than 22 slopes.
Huldreheimen, or the ‘heart’ of Sirdal Ski Centre as we like to call it, is one of our two popular children’s areas. This is a place where young children can get their ‘ski legs’, and it doesn’t have to cost anything. Huldreheimen is in a sheltered spot, and is a lovely area with:
free rope tow
covered picnic area with electric barbecues that you can use free of charge
Hulderheimen has been designed to ensure that beginners achieve the perfect learning curve as they graduate from rope tow to button lift. The Ski School also has a base here. Our mascot ‘Snøfte’ also lives in Hulderheimen, and though he often hides in the forest, he sometimes comes out to say hello to the children here. The café in Ålsheia also has harnesses for young children, and this can be a great place to start your Alpine adventure, not far from all the facilities of Ålsmyra.
From the top of Hulderheimen, you can ski down to the resort’s chairlift; it’s the only chairlift in Sirdal, and in fact the only one between South Rogaland and Vest Agder. It takes you up to 928 metres, where you have the choice of some excellent long slopes. There are easy, moderate and difficult runs from this top point. At the chairlift base station, we have two cafés which have seats for about 150 people inside, and plenty of room outside. These are great places to stop for a breather and enjoy some tasty hot food! If you come by car, most of our parking spaces are here beside the chairlift. The easiest slope from the chairlift runs via the Koblingsheisen lift, which is a button lift at the back of Tjørhomfjellet. This lift connects Tjørhomfjellet and Ålsheia, and it’s here that you can choose whether to ski on towards Ålsheia or back to the chairlift. If you ski towards Ålsheia, you will arrive at Nyestøl, which has two lifts – Dåfjell and Slettekvæv. Nyestøl is one of our best and most sheltered areas, with wide slopes and of course, our ski cross run. From the Slettekvæv lift, you can get to Ålsmyra via our shortest lift, Hølen. At the excellent Ålsmyra area, you will find our other café, which has indoor seating for about 150 people, and another 150 seats outside the café, which can often get quite busy. Ålsmyra has been a favourite rendezvous point for more than 50 years, and we are happy to say that this tradition is set to continue!
Here we also have everything else that an Alpine resort needs:
Ski lockers to rent annually
Ski jump with airbag landing pad
Evening skiing with floodlit slopes
After you have treated yourself to a break in the café, you can carry on to our Dobbelheis lift, which has its own lovely slopes, and you can enjoy yourself all day here if you want! At the top of this lift is the Fjellheisen lift, which is now dedicated to one of our two terrain parks.
